چکیده
Abstract Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is associated with inflammatory mediators that may also trigger downstream signaling pathways leading to reduce insulin sensitivity. Methods We aimed determine the risk association of hyperinsulinemia in NMOSD patients seropositive AQP4-IgG and serum levels interleukin (IL)-6 IL-17A compared control group. Serum metabolic (Insulin, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), lipid profile) (IL-6 IL-17) markers were assessed 56 100 controls. Results Hyperinsulinemia was more prevalent independent age, sex body mass index (BMI) (48.2% vs. 26%, p = 0.005) After adjusting BMI, there significant between lower sensitivity (IS) (95% CI: Beta 0.73, 0.62 0.86, 0.0001). Circulating IL-6 IL-17 higher patients, only had an effect modifier for risk. Conclusions Our data suggests pathogenesis leads increases resistance.

Tumefactive Brain Lesions in Patients with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
Background: Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) is an autoimmune neurological disorder that is characterized by optic neuritis and longitudinally-extended transverse myelitis lesions in spinal segments. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) findings are part of the diagnostic process in NMOSD patients, and abnormal lesion patterns may cause deviation from a correct diagnosis. Clinical P...
متن کاملLong-term Therapy With Interleukin 6 Receptor Blockade in Highly Active Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder.
IMPORTANCE Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is characterized by disabling relapses of optic neuritis and myelitis and the presence of aquaporin 4 antibodies (AQP4-abs). Interleukin 6, which is significantly elevated in serum and cerebrospinal fluid of patients with NMO, induces AQP4-ab production by plasmablasts and represents a novel therapeutic target. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the long-term safety a...
متن کاملMuscle damage in patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder
OBJECTIVE Increasing evidence has shown that skeletal muscle damage plays a role in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). The objective of this study was to compare the serum creatine kinase (sCK) levels in NMOSD patients with different clinical statuses. METHODS In the observational study, levels of sCK were measured during the acute and stable phases for patients with NMOSD and he...
متن کاملNeuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder Presenting with Pseudoathetosis
Dear Editor, Pseudoathetosis is a movement disorder that is characterized by involuntary, slow, and writhing movements. It can develop from lesions at all levels of proprioceptive sensory pathways, including the posterior column of the spinal cord, parietal cortex, thalamus, and peripheral nerves.1,2 Various conditions that involve the posterior column have been reported to cause spinal pseudoa...
